What to Know Before Couple Skydiving

To prepare you and your partner for your grand day out, here are a few things you’ll want to know before you get up and go!

COUPLES SKYDIVE TOGETHER?

Well …yes, and no. To be clear – you will go through everything before and after your jump together, but first-time tandem skydivers do not exit the plane at the exact same time as other tandems, nor will they be freefalling in the sky together. This is for safety reasons of course! 

As skydivers, our job is to protect everyone’s safety by mitigating any and all possible risks. Instructors have to be hyper-aware of their surroundings because anything in the area is calculated as a potential risk. That is why only experienced and licensed skydivers are permitted to jump with tandem skydivers (for example, your videographer!).

Yes, this means that LICENSED skydiving couples can jump together and they do, all the time!

COUPLE SKYDIVING: WHAT TO EXPECT

We cannot stress this enough – when planning your skydiving adventure be sure to MAKE A RESERVATION! If you want to guarantee a slot for you and your significant other, we definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. This can be done online, at your own convenience, or over the phone!

As you’re planning your day, here’s a breakdown of what to expect while on your couple’s skydiving adventure!

Check-in & Training

Once you arrive at the drop zone, check-in and paperwork will take place at the manifest window near the entrance of the hangar. This takes about 10 minutes. The manifest staff will make every effort to coordinate both of you on the same plane. From there, you will go through the classroom ground training together where you’ll watch a pre-jump video and will be briefed by one of our highly trained instructors.

Boarding the Aircraft

After training, you will wait with your partner for your time to board the aircraft. Once it’s go time, you’ll board the plane with your assigned instructors. Then it’s wheels up and an easy ride up to 13,500 ft!

Exiting the Aircraft

When it comes time to exit the aircraft, you (and your instructor) will jump out of the plane one at a time. Who’s going first? Will you offer, or will you have to convince your partner to go first? 

Landing

Once your instructor deploys the parachute, you may be able to spot your significant other under their canopy. Give them a shoutout! Once you land, you will be reunited with your beloved to share your incredible experiences with one another.
