We’ll give it to ya straight, the average skydiving cost these days is around $250.

How much does skydiving cost in Georgia? Here at Skydive Monroe (AKA the best skydiving in Georgia!), our tandem skydive cost is $245. The price decreases if you book with a group of five or more people, and is only $200 if you are a student or military member (with ID). Optional costs, like photo and video services, can be added (and yes, they’re 100% worth it)!

We understand that $245 can seem a little steep, but don’t get your knickers in a knot quite yet. Let’s look into what you’re paying for, and we promise the price will make a lot more sense.

First-Time Skydiving Costs

The average cost to go skydiving is a bit more involved than just paying to chuck yourself out of a perfectly good airplane! The cost of a tandem skydive is all-inclusive. skydiving plane ride cost

Here are a few factors to consider:

  • A professional instructor: All of our tandem instructors have ratings through the United States Parachute Association (USPA), extensive training, and thousands of combined jumps.
  • Pre-jump training: Tandem skydiving training is brief. The goal is to prepare you for your responsibilities as a tandem student and what to expect during each portion of the skydive.
  • Equipment: A jumpsuit, goggles, harness, and tandem skydiving rig equipped with two parachutes – a primary (main) canopy, and a secondary (reserve) canopy, will all fall through the sky with you. Each jump adds wear and tear to these items.
  • Freefall: Approximately an entire minute of falling at roughly 120 mph!
  • Parachute ride: Around a 5-minute ride under the parachute, where you’ll be able to take in the sights from a bird’s eye view.
  • Aircraft: The airplane endures routine depreciation every time we fly it, just like a car. This, plus fuel, is included in the cost.

We pride ourselves on giving our customers the best skydiving experience possible in every facet. Meticulously maintained gear, professional and passionate instructors, and an overarching culture of safety are non-negotiables.

Finding the Best Deal on Skydiving

Choosing where to complete a skydive should not be solely based on cost. Think of a skydiving experience like a tattoo … it’s an experience that is permanently marked on your heart and soul. Would you choose the cheapest and closest tattoo artist? Or would you choose the one with the best equipment, customer service, and safety practices? We sure know which one we would choose. We recommend you start your search for the perfect skydiving center based on four criteria: airplane type, exit altitude, reviews, and general customer service.

Aircraft type.

The type of airplane the dropzone uses dictates a few things, including how many people fit in the plane, how high it goes, and how fast it gets there. No one aircraft is necessarily better than the other, you just have to decide what you prioritize! Our King Air fits 12 people and gets to 14,000 feet in under 10 minutes – it’s hard to beat those specs.

Exit altitude.

The most common altitude to do a tandem skydive from is 10,000 feet. While this is fine and dandy … it’s not even comparable to 14,000 feet (which is our exit altitude).

Reviews.

Let’s go back to the tattoo artist example … would you book with an artist who had only really good reviews, or a mix of really awesome and super poor reviews? (PSST! We would choose the former). Remember, reviews are about positivity and consistency.

Customer service.

Skydiving for the first time is intimidating, to say the least. Does the place you want to go make you feel comfortable? Will they openly answer any questions or address any concerns you have? Feel out the vibes and make sure they’re up to par before booking!

*Something to note: Booking directly through the dropzone you wish to complete your skydive with is the best way to go. There are tons of third-party scammers out there – beware!

Is the cost of skydiving worth it? YES! Skydiving is a one-of-a-kind experience that enables you to overcome fears while having an absolute blast. We can’t wait to have you!
